There is a lot of hubbub about today. 21 December 2012. There are numerous predictions for the end of the world ranging from terrifying to absurd including galactic alignment, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, a geomagnetic reversal, collision with Nibiru or some other interplanetary object, alien invasion, and the Earth being destroyed by a giant supernova. Scientists from NASA along with expert archeologists have stated that none of these cataclysmic events are possible. While some are bracing for doomsday, armageddon, or the return of Jesus, others are embracing shift, awakening, unity and higher consciousness.
I can’t say what the future holds but it is no doubt an extraordinary time to be alive. The world is smaller than it’s ever been before; we are interconnected to the global community; and people are doing amazing things worldwide. Choquash – a Native American storyteller – said something years ago that I think sums up the times we are living in. “The elders have sent me to tell you that now is like a rushing river, and this will be experienced in many different ways. There are those who would hold onto the shore… there is no shore. The shore is crumbling. Push off into the middle of the river. Keep your head above the water, look around to see who else is in the river with you, and celebrate.” Happy 21 December!
